Airport
Hong Kong Airport is
a large modern efficient
airport. The fastest
way to reach the city
is the on the Airport
Express that takes
23 minutes to Central
and departs every 12
minutes. Onward travel
on the MTR connects up
all the main areas. A
free airport Express
shuttle Bus connects
Hong Kong and Kowloon
stations to major hotels
and transport interchanges.
On your departure baggage
can be checked in at
the Central and Kowloon
rail terminals. The Air
Passenger Departure Tax
is normally included
in the price of the airline
ticket but not charged
for visitors departing
the same day. Passengers
have to pay a security
charge.
Taxis are
found in the taxi pick-up
area in front of the
Arrivals Hall. Airbus offers
9 routes called “A” routes
which are an express
service. When you exit
the Arrivals Hall, turn
right for Airbuses. There
are a number of ordinary city
buses “E” routes.
A ferry
link operates from
Tung Chung New Development
Pier at Chek Lap Kok
to the town of Tuen Mun
in the New Territories.
And many companies organise
a personal limousine
or mini-van or coach
